Summer Festivals 2018
Summer is around the corner. Barcelona has so many festivals and events to choose from its hard to pick where to start from!
Primavera Sound (May30- June3)
For more than sixteen years now Primavera Sound has been consistently offering successful musical events. This festival has consolidated itself as a model reference for urban festivals that is internationally considered as an unmissable musical event. Pixies, Arcade Fire, Queens of the Stone Age, The National, Nine Inch Nails, Kendrick Lamar, Neil Young, Sonic Youth, Portishead, Radiohead, Lou Reed, My Bloody Valentine, Brian Wilson, Pulp, Patti Smith, James Blake, Franz Ferdinand, The White Stripes, LCD Soundsystem, Psychic TV, Spiritualized, The Cure, Bon Iver, Death Cab For Cutie, Phoenix,Tame Impala, are just a few of the many artists who have played on the stages of the festival to this day.
Sónar (Jun 14-16, 2018)
The three-day International Festival of Advanced Music and Multimedia Art is a must for anyone into electronic music, contemporary urban art and media technologies. The event, which celebrates its 25th edition in 2018, is divided into two parts. Sonar by Day comprises multimedia art, record fairs, conferences, exhibitions and sound labs, while DJs play. Later, Sonar by Night, where concerts and DJs are spread over SonarClub, SonarPark and SonarPub. Big names who performed in 2017 included Björk (DJ set) Nicolas Jaar, De La Soul, Seth Troxler & Tiga, Little Dragon, Nina Kraviz, DJ Shadow, Nosaj Thing, among many others.
Festival Cruïlla Barcelona (Jul 13 & 14, 2018)
At Festival Cruïlla you will enjoy yourself throughout a summer weekend with close to 40 live shows distributed in several stages at the Parc del Fòrum de Barcelona.
The headliners for the 9th edition of Cruïlla are Jack White, Prophets of Rage, N.E.R.D, Kygo, The Roots and Justice. In addition, we will have artists such as David Byrne, Orbital, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Ben Howard, SOJA, LP, Gilberto Gil and up to 40 performances.
Circuit Festival (Aug 9-19, 2018)
The biggest international gay and lesbian even. It is nearly two weeks of parties and music, plus so much more: literary readings, talks, debates, workshops, documentary film festivals and lots of good sporty fun with football tournaments, beach volleyball, fitness courses, longboard outings and even yoga sessions.
DGTL (Aug 10-11, 2018)
The 3rd edition of this electronic music festival will take place in Parc del Forum in August 10-11. For all those electronic music lovers this is a festival you shouldn’t miss. DGTL differentiates with balanced programming. While other festivals hinge on large-draw headliners, DGTL combines those big names with local and international emerging talents.
